Vision: Challenging men to impact their families, and ultimately their world, through fulfilling the proper role of the father.

Mission:

  1. To honor, encourage, and restore the proper father role, specifically within the military.
  2. To facilitate seminars and conferences on every military base in the nation to address negative issues facing fathers. (i.e., sex, pornography, raising children, anger, suicide, financial distress, wives, etc.)
  3. To implement strategies, hold regular training sessions, and encourage men who are actively engaged in the fathering.
  4. To implement a strategy that establishes “fathers coaches” in multiple groups on ever military base in the nation.
  5. To implement a strategy that encourages men, teaches them how to father, and produces surrogate fathers. **Note: There are over 20 million children living in single-parent homes.

Introduction:

Every major crisis facing our culture in the world today can be traced back to the fundamental issue of fathering and healthy masculinity in our society. Here are a few of many correlations that demonstrate how the issue of healthy fathering is a factor in cultural and moral problems:

War and Terrorism: Most dictators or terrorist leaders come from homes where they experienced an abusive father or a father absent during childhood (Hitler, Stalin, Marx, Castro, shadows, bin Laden, Ahmadinejad) or from a culture in which the lack of nurturing by fathers is the cultural norm.

Aids: Rampant promiscuity among young males seeking to prove their sexual prowess and young girls seeking male attention feeds the increasing spread of AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.

Crime: The greatest predictor of crime in any given neighborhood is the number of father-absent single-parent families.

Prison Populations: 80% to 90% of men in prison were raised without fathers. The increase in prison populations in the US and around the world are mainly fatherless or father deprived males. Fatherless sons are 300% more likely to be incarcerated in juvenile institutions than our sons raised with a father in the home.

Adolescent Murderers: The number of children and adolescents who commit murder is increasing, and most of these grew up in fatherless homes.

Drugs and Additions: Addictions are about medicating or covering pain. This includes the pain of fatherlessness and the pain caused by choices individuals make to medicate or cover this pain.

Pornography and Prostitution: Women are treated like objects and used for mayoral gratification. The men who engage in this industry have little compassion and are unmoved by the pain they cause. The lack of feeling, empathy, and compassion has been linked to being raised in fatherless environments and/or from unhealthy fathers.

Gangs: Gangs in every corner of the world are made up predominantly of kids from fatherless homes.

Increase in Sex Crimes against Children: More and more children are suffering from sex crimes. Research shows that children raised without a father in the home are picked as targets more frequently than children living with the father in the home.

Loss of respect for Authority and Values: Many children raised in fatherless homes have not been raised with the boundaries that train children about politeness, hospitality, and kindness. Disrespect for authority, abusive freedoms, and mistreatment of the elderly can all be traced to fatherlessness related issues.

The depravity of healthy fathers is a critical issue around the globe and is a major factor in the challenges facing our world.

Summary:

The reality it is that this problem is not just a man's job. Healthy parenting takes a male and female to raise healthy children in a two gender world. A man and a woman, functioning as peers, sharing authority and responsibilities, make the healthiest parenting environment. Studies also show that neither is it's just about the father being present in the home, but fulfilling the proper role as a healthy father in the home makes the difference.

Our hope is that women and mothers will wake up and take notice of what is happening to fathering in our culture. The children they love and fight so hard for are being destroyed right in front of their eyes. We believe that if fathers are not restored in the proper parenting role in the family, children will continue to be deprived of the living environment that is most conducive to their well-being and happiness in later life and our culture will continue to implode.

Men, we should be angry as hell at all of these factors that are robbing us of our sons and daughters. Our most noble role as father has been attacked and diluted for too long. We must take the first by engaging our hearts in the battle. It is time to take back the noble role of healthy fathering that produces the fruit in our children like character, integrity, commitment, stability, honor, reliability, consistency, and moral values. It makes our children leaders instead of followers. OSU Tour seeks to be a conduit of strengthening in the military environment regarding fatherhood.
